Talk show Glenn Beck interviews David Nielman, president of Jet Blue airlines about Coal to Oil.
The United States can be (within 10 years or better) independent from foreign countries, not to mention more U.S. jobs, lower prices, tax revenue into our country, removing terrorist cash flow, Economic and National security.
Take a look at Business plan and Senate Bill proposal (PDF).
Germany made this technology called the fischer Tropher process during WW2 because Germany had no real access to oil. Oil runs tanks, aircraft and so forth. South Africa used Germany technology to reduce significant oil imports. This technology has been improved by various companies but these are the ones I know of -Sasol, Peabody and Rentech
Glen Beck interviews Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer about converting Coal to Oil project & it's real prospects.
What does it Do?
This device distills small amounts of useful gas and oil from common coal.
Why the hell would you want to do that?
There is a lot more coal on this planet that there is oil, especially in the United States.
(Remember the OPEC-induced energy crises in 1973 and 1976?)
How does it work?
Basically, the principle involved here is destructive distillation. Certain compounds are trapped inside the coal, and they are released by heating. The compounds are then collected for use. This sticky, reddish-brown substance collected is called Primary Tar and it is very useful.
What do you do with this stuff?
Anything that you can make from crude oil, you can make from primary tar (coal distillate). These products include gasoline, jet fuel, natural gas, and plastics.
U.S. Airforce takes a real hard (realistic) Look at using "Coal To Oil" in this demonstration.
Much new oil has been found, and the U.S. has become far more efficient in energy use. But none of this disturbs a hard truth: America's economy, the engine of its global pre-eminence, depends on some of the world's most anti-American nations. By 2020, the federal Energy Information Agency expects, the Persian Gulf will account for 54% to 67% of world oil exports, up from around 30% now.
